In 1976, Lorraine Delsol established the House of Lorraine, a Designer boutique in the fashionable Yorkville area of Davenport and Avenue Road. She was the first West Indian designer to launch a major fashion shows in Toronto, which she produced, directed and choreographed; as a result, she was featured regularly in the Toronto Star, the Globe & Mail, Share and the now defunct Contrast.

In June of 1979 Lorraine was the subject of CBC’s Profile on the weekly documentary “The Canadians”. She created a sensation when she introduced the Plastic “See Thru” pants on the fashion scene, which led to interviews by Jeanie Becker on Chum Radio and Bob McAdory on Global TV. Besides designing, Lorraine was a contributing fashion writer for the now defunct Spear Magazine and Caribbean Corner.

For the past ten years, she has worked tirelessly as a volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society and helps whenever needed to serve meals to the less fortunate at St Vincent’s Kitchen.

The Madame Wob Dwiyet Canada has been on hiatus for the past 2 years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show returns to full production this October in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
